Job description

Responsibilities and Certifications 

  • To assist the Purchasing Manager to provide a service that exceeds the expectations of our internal and external customers.
  • Manage activities of Purchasing in relation to OFP and Purchase Order entry (backup)
  • Review requests from Sales to send material out to our various Vendors to be processed
  • Enter information into D365 correctly
  • Prioritize orders and coordinate with Sales and vendors orders of importance.
  • Receive finished material into D365 and ship back into Samuel facilities
  • Works closely with other Team members to dispatch ready material from mill to Samuel facilities or direct to customers
  • Prepare manual bills to dispatch to outside carriers for material shipping direct into Storage facility.
  • Receive material if shipped to any outside facility or direct to customer.
  • Prioritize orders and coordinate with Sales orders of importance.
  • Modify P.O's when required. 
  • Review invoices from outside carriers, storage facilities and material testing to verify costs, code invoices and approve for payment through Medius

Education and Certifications:

  • Completion of post-secondary education, University / College education in Business or Marketing preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications:

  • A team player with excellent communication skills to provide a high degree of customer service 
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and perform functions in a timely and accurate matter
  • Experience in the steel service industry an asset 
  • Effective time management skills, ability to prioritize, able to work as a member of a team.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook. D365 experience is a plus.
  • Previous interaction and experience working with customers.
  • Drive, determination and ability to work both independently with little direction and as part of a team.

The base salary range for this position is $56,000 - $70,000 per year (CAD). The posted range reflects the expected base salary for this position. Actual base salary will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience, as well as internal equity considerations. Offers are typically made within the range and not at the top of the range to support growth and progression. This position is eligible to participate in a short-term incentive plan. Incentive awards, if any, are based on business and individual performance and are not guaranteed.
