Our company partner is seeking to fill a Power Platform Developer position. This mid-level role is a key contributor to building and supporting business solutions using Microsoft Power Platform - including Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse - to drive efficiencies and innovation across the organization. The Power Platform Developer designs, develops and maintains custom applications and automated workflows while adhering to established governance standards, security requirements, and performance best practices. This role works within the enterprise's Power Platform framework (e.g., environments, DLP policies, and ALM processes) in partnership with platform administrators and IT.
Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain Power Platform solutions: Implement custom business applications using Power Apps (canvas and model-driven) and automate workflows with Power Automate, leveraging Dataverse and other data sources to streamline business processes.
  2. Collaborate with stakeholders: Work with business users to gather requirements and translate functional needs into technical specifications and Power Platform solution designs. Ensure clear communication and manage expectations throughout the development lifecycle.
  3. Ensure governance and best practices: Develop solutions in accordance with the Company's Power Platform governance standards and Center of Excellence guidelines. Configure apps and flows to align with established data loss prevention (DLP) policies, security roles, and environment usage rules as required.
  4. Application lifecycle management: Package and deploy Power Platform solutions across development, test, and production environments using established ALM processes and deployment pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps and/or the Microsoft ALM Accelerator where applicable). Maintain versioning and release notes, and coordinate deployments with platform administrators as needed.
  5. Performance and quality optimization: Identify opportunities to improve the performance and reliability of Power Platform applications and flows. Optimize apps (e.g. by refining formulas or data calls) and workflows to ensure responsive, high-quality user experiences. Monitor solution performance and proactively address any issues to maintain high availability.
  6. Integration and data management: Integrate Power Platform solutions with enterprise systems and data sources (such as Microsoft 365 services, APIs, or Azure services) as needed, ensuring proper data handling and compliance. Where appropriate, utilize existing connectors and integration patterns; experience with custom connectors or Azure Functions is a plus.
  7. Support and maintenance: Monitor released Power Platform solutions and provide ongoing support. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues or bugs in a timely manner to minimize downtime. Work closely with IT support teams and platform administrators to ensure solutions remain functional, secure, and up-to-date (including periodic Power Platform updates).
  8. Collaboration and knowledge sharing: Work in conjunction with cross-functional teams (e.g., Data & Analytics, IT Infrastructure, Architecture) to ensure Power Platform solutions align with enterprise IT standards and strategies. Share best practices and reusable patterns with team members; contribute to internal documentation to support consistent development.
  9. All other duties as assigned.

Essential Characteristics
  1. Ability to demonstrate the core and job category competencies: customer-focused, results-driven, teamwork, communications, adaptability, initiative, problem solving and quality
  2. Ability to lead by example in support of the Company's essential characteristics and values: strong ethics and integrity, dedication to a safe work environment, commitment to a diverse workforce that recognizes and respects every individual's unique skills and perspectives
  3. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in order to meet individual goals and deadlines

Required Education (certifications, licenses)
  1. Associate's Degree and approximately 3+ years of related work experience; or 5+ years of experience and relevant certifications (Educational background in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.)
  2. Certification: Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate (PL-200) certification required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  1. Power Platform expertise: Hands-on experience developing solutions with Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse to solve business problems (preferably 3+ years). Should be proficient in building canvas and model-driven apps and automating workflows.
  2. Governance and CoE familiarity: Working knowledge of Power Platform governance concepts and Center of Excellence best practices, with the ability to build solutions that comply with established environment usage rules, security roles, and DLP policies. Comfortable partnering with platform administrators when configuration or approvals are required.
  3. ALM and DevOps: Understanding of application lifecycle management for Power Platform. Experience with solution packaging, versioning, and deploying through established pipelines/processes (e.g., Azure DevOps and/or ALM Accelerator) to promote solutions between environments is highly desired.
  4. Data and integration fundamentals: Familiarity working with common business data sources (e.g., Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL Server) and basic understanding of relational data concepts. Able to design efficient data access patterns for apps and flows while maintaining data quality and performance.
  5. Integration abilities: Familiarity with integrating Power Platform solutions with external systems and data sources.
