Sales Director
Position Summary: The development and solicitation of business from all markets to ensure the necessary bookings needed for a successful and profitable operation for the hotel.
Overview of Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Director of Sales will be accountable for the following:
  1. Responsible for the supervision of sales managers, trainees, interns, and administrative staff.

  1. Direct the solicitation efforts of the sales staff through effective oral and written communication while overseeing rate, date and space commitments for group room sales and catering within the hotel.

  1. Administer the staffing, training and performance reviews for the Sales Department. Ensure training programs are conducted regularly and the hotel's standards of performance are met. Give guidance and counsel staff toward excellence.

  1. Complies and/or directs the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales Department to include, but not limited to the annual and monthly forecast, marketing budget, lead management system, booking report, answer net reports and sales meeting minutes.

  1. Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and related information for development of new marketing strategies. Make reasonable recommendations to improve potential from various markets.

  1. Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sale presentations to prospective clients. Internally promote the hotel's programs. Meet with and entertain clients, some of which will require travel.

  1. Initiate preparation of computerized annual Marketing Plan and execute plans as outlines, critically examining and adjusting as deemed necessary by current market conditions.

  1. Organize and/or attend scheduled Sales Department and related meetings. Lead and challenge sales team to meet sales expectations.

  1. Assists with the development of the annual hotel budget using group and transient forecasts.

  1. Maintains an active and visible position in the local community and industry.

  1. Participates in community activities, associate functions and guest events.

  1. Display a profound commitment to the highest levels of personal and professional integrity and honesty in all dealings.
