Location: Bridgeport, AL

What you will do

As the Plant Director you will lead all phases of Operations, Safety, maintenance, projects, and engineering in the Plant. You will be the main point of contact for Ferroglobe corporate for reporting and operations into the plant.

  • Represents Ferroglobe in the corresponding local and regional bodies.
  • Monitors raw material, finished goods and spare parts levels at the Factory.
  • Monitors the quality of raw materials that enter the Factory and of the finished goods produced.
  • Approves and authorizes payment of Factory expenses.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting of technical and performance data.
  • Recommends the annual factory budget, including the annual production plan and personnel expenses and capital investment to the VP of Operations. Ensures implementation after final approval has been received.
  • Recommends the organizational structure and permanent personnel hiring to P&C director.
  • Responsible for setting performance and development targets with direct reports and conducting performance reviews.
  • Responsible for the Quality, Environmental, Safety and Health and Energy Efficiency Systems at the Factory and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in the Factory Safety and Health Committee

What we seek

  • Bachelor of Science degree required; MS or MBA preferred.
  • Melting experience or metallurgical engineering desired
  • Minimum of 10 years heavy manufacturing experience required with demonstrated levels of increasing responsibility and leadership.
  • Metals or petrochemical industry experience a strong plus.
  • Previous leadership experience in union environment required.
  • Outstanding leadership skills with demonstrated track record of performance results, hands-on leadership style.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal, written, and presentation), and facilitation skills.
  • Strong ability to develop and sustain a people centric culture and build effective, high performing teams.
  • Challenges the status quo and champion of change; effectively leads others through change.
  • Creative, innovative, and strategic thinker

Criteria/Working Conditions

  • Work is in a heavy industrial plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, and see.
  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to thirty (30) pounds during the workday.
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.
  • Ferroglobe promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment using mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as per applicable State Laws
