Job description

QED Systems, LLC, is currently recruiting a Senior Systems Engineer, to join our team in Fort Belvoir, VA to support our customer, Project Manager Expeditionary Energy & Sustainment Systems (PM E2S2).

Duties:

  • Interact with system users to translate their requirements into systems, hardware, and software requirements and design.
  • Participate in the development of test strategies.
  • Solve engineering problems (or managing the solution of engineering problems) in the functional area to which assigned.
  • Provide engineering support to PM E2S2 divisions and Product Management Offices across the product lifecycle applying principles, processes, and doctrine of DoD acquisition.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Detail-oriented with excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills.

Required Clearance:

  • ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Secret

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required. Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related scientific or technical discipline preferred.
  • Ten (10) years of direct relevant experience is required.
  • An additional ten (10) years of experience may substitute the degree requirement.

Travel:

Travel of at least 25% is expected for this position. Travel will include continental United States and outside continental United States austere/remote locations. Ability to fly (no limitations against flight) on commercial airlines to/from duty locations.

Work Environment:

This role is performed in a typical office, maintenance shop or outside in a motor-pool/field environment. This role will be required to be performed in austere soldier/unit locations in an operational and educational manner.

Physical Demands:

Physical demands of this position include ability to:

  • Be independently mobile.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.
  • Withstand prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and computer use.
  • Lift/push/pull objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds.
  • Climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
  • Withstand exposure to noise from operating equipment.
  • Ability to work in confined areas.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a fullโ€time position, Monday through Friday. Flexibility around core hours. Travel may occur outside of normal core hours.

Estimated Salary Range: $125,000.00 - $140,000.00, annually. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. This represents the typical range for fully qualified candidates for this position based on experience, geographic location, and other factors. The final offer amount may vary.
