Director, Oracle Fusion Financials (ERP Technology)
Location: [New York/Los Angeles]

 
 
As the Director of Oracle Fusion Financials, you will be the technical cornerstone of our financial ecosystem. You will lead the strategy, implementation, and optimization of our Oracle Cloud ERP, ensuring a seamless flow of data across General Ledger (GL), Cash Management, AGIS, Payables (AP), and Receivables (AR). Your goal is to move beyond simple maintenance, transforming our financial systems into a scalable, high-performance platform that empowers our global finance teams.
 
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Strategy & Roadmap
  • Architectural Oversight: Oversee the technical architecture of the Oracle Fusion Financials suite. Make sure the system configurations meet global business needs. Ensure they follow technical best practices.
  • Release Management: Lead the strategy for Oracle's quarterly update cycles, overseeing impact analysis, regression testing, and the rollout of new features to minimize business disruption.
2. Domain Leadership (Module Expertise)
General Ledger (GL) & Financial Architecture
  • Hierarchies & COA: Hands-on experience designing and maintaining Value Sets, Flexfield structures (KFF/DFF), and Tree Hierarchies. Must be able to manage the impact of hierarchy changes on reporting cubes (Essbase).
  • Ledger Engineering: Expertise in configuring Primary/Secondary Ledgers, Reporting Currencies, and Ledger Sets. Must understand the technical logic behind "Subledger Accounting" (SLA) to customize how data flows from AP/AR/CM/PPM into the GL.
  • Expertise in configuring cross validation rules, data access sets, segment value security.
Financial Accounting Hub (FAH)
  • Account Rules & Mapping Sets: Designing rules to dynamically derive Chart of Accounts (COA) segments based on source data attributes, Defining journal line and description rules.
  • Subledger Accounting Methods (SLAM): Grouping all rules together into a cohesive accounting method assigned to the ledger.
  • Transaction Types: Identifying and categorizing the different business events coming from the legacy system.
  • Source Data Definition: Defining the header and line-level data elements (sources) that need to be captured from the external system to drive accounting rules and reporting.
Cash Management & Banking
  • Bank Integration (Host-to-Host): Technical mastery of the bank transmission and secure file transmission (SFTP/PGP) for automated statement retrieval.
  • Reconciliation Engines: Expert knowledge of Manual and Automated Reconciliation Rule Sets, including the use of "Tolerance Rules" and "Mapping Sets" to handle high-volume bank statement lines.
  • External Transactions: Ability to develop automated "sweep" or "zero-balance" technical logic for global liquidity management.
  • Embedded banking: Knowledge of embedded banking feature in Fusion Cash Management.
  • Configuration and maintenance of cash posting rules.
Payables (AP) & Payments
  • PTP: Experience in Oracle Supplier Portal, IDR or DocIO for vendor onboarding and invoice processing
  • Payment File Formatting: Hands-on development of ISO 20022, NACHA, and SWIFT payment templates using BI Publisher (eText/XSL-FO) to facilitate direct integration with global banks.
  • Tax & Withholding: Technical configuration of tax engines, including tax rules, regimes, and automated tax calculation logic for cross-border transactions.
Fixed Assets (FA)
  • Asset Lifecycle Automation: Technical expertise in configuring Asset Books (Corporate/Tax), Depreciation Methods (STL, DB), and Prorate Conventions.
  • Mass Additions Logic: Hands-on experience with the FA Mass Additions process, specifically troubleshooting the technical interface between AP/Projects and the FA module.
Accounts Receivable (AR) & Collections
  • Auto-Invoice Architecture: Mastery of the Auto-Invoice Master Program; must be able to debug interface table errors and design custom validation logic for high-volume billing imports from external CRMs (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Lockbox & Receipt Processing: Experience designing and building Auto-Lockbox transmission formats and "Auto-Match" rule sets for high-accuracy receipt application.
Integration & Data Engineering
  • Ecosystem Connectivity: Partner with the Data Engineering team to ensure seamless data flow between Oracle Fusion and ancillary systems.
  • Reporting Strategy: Direct the development of advanced reporting using OTBI, BI Publisher, FRS and FDI to provide real-time visibility into global financials.
Team & Partner Leadership
  • Talent Development: Manage a team of Oracle Functional Analysts and Technical Developers, fostering a culture of agile delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Vendor Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for 3rd-party implementation partners, ensuring high service levels and project accountability.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Finance. MBA or CPA is a significant plus.
  • Experience: 10+ years in ERP management, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in Oracle Fusion Cloud.
  • Full Lifecycle Mastery: Proven track record of leading at least two global, full-lifecycle Oracle Cloud Financials implementations.
  • Deep Functional Knowledge: Expert-level understanding of GL, FAH, Cash Management, AGIS, AP, and AR modules.
  • Technical Literacy: Familiarity with FBDI, ADFDI, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), and SOAP/REST APIs as they relate to financial data.
Preferred Qualifications
  • The Bridge-Builder: You can explain complex SQL queries to a Controller and the nuances of Intercompany accounting to a Software Engineer.
  • The Optimizer: You aren't satisfied with a "working" system; you are constantly looking for ways to reduce "Time-to-Close" and automate manual journal entries.
  • The SOX Lookout: You understand the critical importance of controls, audit trails, and segregation of duties in a global financial environment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $176,800.00 - 265,200.00. 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
