Job Requirements:

 In cooperation and coordination with the WRMC Director of Risk Management, is responsible for identification, risk evaluation and coordination of corrective action implementation related to risk issues.  Provides and/or coordinates intervention and education related to risk management issues to promote safe work practices and quality care and services; in an environment that is beneficial to the safety, health and well-being of all patients, visitors and hospital staff.  Coordinates risk programs with hospital departments, administration.  Responsible for establishing and monitoring methods to avoid, eliminate and/or reduce risk situations associated with the provision of patient care and services.  Responsible for local claims management activities to include coordination with corporate claims and legal departments as well as any local attorneys retained to manage hospital medical malpractice activities. These activities include staff identification for attorney interviews, deposition preparation, and deposition attendance as appropriate. Responsible for assisting with the facility wide patient complaint/grievance process.  Duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Florida health care license in nursing or other related specialty clinical field preferred, completion from an approved Florida Department of Insurance Risk Management course (to be obtained within 2 1/2 years)
  • Green belt and Six sigma black belt designation
  • Health care professional with experience in acute risk management
  • Minimum of three years managerial experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required as well as Quality Management
  • Masters degree preferred in a Health or Business related field
