Director of Radiology

Location: Martinsburg, WV
Berkeley Medical Center, a member of WVU Medicine, is seeking an innovative and experienced healthcare leader to serve as our Director of Radiology. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a comprehensive and growing imaging service line within one of the region's premier healthcare organizations.

The Director of Radiology provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership for all imaging services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while advancing clinical excellence, operational performance, and service line growth. Berkeley Medical Center offers a full spectrum of advanced imaging services, including Interventional Radiology and Neurointerventional Radiology, providing a unique opportunity to lead a highly specialized and technologically advanced department.

Working in close partnership with executive leadership, physicians, and multidisciplinary clinical teams, the Director will play a key role in shaping the future of imaging services, driving innovation, enhancing patient outcomes, and supporting the mission and strategic priorities of WVU Medicine.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative and visionary leader with a passion for developing high-performing teams, fostering a culture of excellence, and leveraging emerging technologies and best practices to improve patient care and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic direction and overall performance of Radiology Services
  • Develop and execute annual and long-term operational and financial plans
  • Oversee daily imaging operations across all modalities and service lines
  • Manage departmental budgets, resources, and capital planning
  • Drive quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness
  • Lead recruitment, retention, and development of radiology staff
  • Foster strong collaboration with physicians, hospital leadership, and system partners
  • Represent Radiology Services in committees and organizational initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Radiology or related field
  • Current applicable state licensure (OH, WV, or PA as required)
  • ARRT, NMTCB, or ARMRIT certification required
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire
  • 5 years healthcare experience
  • 3 years radiology leadership, supervisory, or administrative experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5 years radiologic clinical experience
  • 5 years progressive leadership experience in healthcare
