Job Description

The Director of Engineering oversees the engineering and maintenance teams at all four locations and assumes all administrative, financial and operating aspects related to engineering and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement long-term engineering strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and mentor high-performing engineering and maintenance teams.
  • Ensure technical excellence, safety compliance, and quality standards across all engineering functions.
  • Oversee planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects on time and within budget.
  • Manage department budgets, labor, equipment, and resources effectively.
  • Direct preventive maintenance programs to protect the asset and enhance reliability.
  • Collaborate with Housekeeping, Front Desk, F&B, Sales, and other departments to ensure operational alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and brand standards.
  • Provide hands-on leadership, troubleshooting, and technical guidance when needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement in energy management, sustainability, and safety systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Engineering and maintenance leadership experience
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and manage engineering and general maintenance teams
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Licenses or certifications such as HVACR, EPA, Certified Pool Operator, or similar preferred
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management capabilities
  • Experience in the field of hospitality, preferred
  • Willingness to travel between Michigan and Florida
