Job description

Civil Design Engineer

Salary:$75,000 - $90,000 (salary will be commensurate with experience)

The City of Ann Arbor offers a competitive wage and benefits package including medical, vision, dental, paid vacation, sick and holiday leave.

Role Summary:

This is a position for municipal civil engineering work for candidates with at least three years of professional experience. Work performed applies basic engineering principles, standards, and methods to aid in the design of a variety of City of Ann Arbor capital improvement projects, including watermains, sanitary sewers, storm, and roads. The assignments require preparation of engineering plans, contract specifications, and related documents for capital improvement projects in preliminary and final engineering plan design situations under direction of a supervisor.

Education, Training and Experience Required at Entry:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience.

Licensing Requirements at Entry

  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification 
  • Valid driver's license.
