Job description

Description:

Salary & Benefits: Competitive salary of $60,000 to $80,000. 5 weeks paid time off and holidays, plus Simple IRA with a 3% match, low-premium BCBS medical insurance, dental/vision reimbursement, $25,000 life insurance, and paid maternity leave.

About Us:

At Greenhouse Fabrics, we do more than sell fabricโ€”we build relationships, curate exceptional collections, and deliver unparalleled service to designers and upholsterers across the country.

As a trusted fabric wholesaler, we are dedicated to pushing boundaries, expanding markets, and driving innovation. Our core valuesโ€”Abundance, Joy, and Ownershipโ€”are the foundation of our success.

We are looking for a strategic, data-driven, and product-savvy leader to take our fabric selection, vendor partnerships, and product strategy to the next level.

If youโ€™re passionate about curating top-tier textile collections, optimizing vendor relationships, and using data to drive decisions, this is the role for you!

Role Overview:

The Director of Product will oversee and refine our fabric selection process, ensuring that every collection reflects the quality, innovation, and versatility that Greenhouse Fabrics is known for. This role is pivotal in shaping our product offerings, working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and leadership to ensure that our selections align with market demand, business strategy, and industry trends.

This role requires a balance of creative vision and analytical expertise, ensuring every product decision is both customer-focused and data-driven.

Requirements:

  • Fabric Selection & Collection Curation โ€“ Lead product selection and layout decisions for new collections. Use historical sales data, trend forecasting, and hands-on product expertise to ensure our sample books are curated to meet customer needs and market demands.
  • Vendor Optimization & Partnerships โ€“ Implement a vendor rating system to identify and prioritize partnerships with high-performance suppliers. Analyze historical data to ensure our top vendors contribute maximum value, refining our sourcing strategy accordingly.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making โ€“ Utilize prior collection performance analysis to guide every product decision. Ensure our product selection is rooted in data, not guesswork.
  • Smart Purchasing & Strategic Sourcing โ€“ Streamline our purchasing process to ensure every order is intentional, cost-effective, and aligned with demand. Communicate requests to the mill in order to answer lead time, stock check, and special order inquiries for the sales and customer service team.
  • Product Training & Internal Education โ€“ Train and educate our teams on the features, benefits, and applications of our fabrics. Ensure our teams can speak with confidence about our latest collections and position our products effectively in the market.

What Makes You a Great Fit?

Weโ€™re looking for someone who understands that product selection is both an art and a science. Youโ€™ll thrive in this role if you have:

Industry Experience โ€“ Background in fabric, textiles, home dรฉcor, furniture, or a related industry is preferred. You understand the nuances of textile selection and how to build high-performing collections.

Data & Analytics Mindset โ€“ You believe in letting data lead the way and are comfortable using historical sales performance, market trends, and analytics tools to make informed decisions.

Strong Vendor Negotiation & Relationship Skills โ€“ You know how to optimize vendor partnerships and ensure weโ€™re working with the right suppliers to achieve the best product and pricing outcomes.

Cross-Functional Leadership โ€“ You thrive on collaboration, working closely with sales, marketing, and leadership to ensure our product selections align with company goals.

Passion for Education & Training โ€“ You believe in equipping teams with knowledge, ensuring our sales & marketing teams understand exactly why our products stand out.

Product Collaborations & Strategic Partnerships โ€“ You have a strong background in developing strategic product partnerships that drive brand differentiation and customer engagement. Whether collaborating with designers, manufacturers, or exclusive vendor partners, you know how to curate standout collections that create excitement in the market.
Experience with Mills & Print Companies โ€“ You have hands-on experience creating custom fabrics in collaboration with mills and print companies. Experience working with contract designers is a plus.

What We Offer:

  • A collaborative, values-driven company culture.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • A chance to make a meaningful impact on a thriving organization.

If youโ€™re ready to take ownership of our product strategy, elevate our collections, and help shape the future of Greenhouse Fabrics, we want to hear from you!
