Job description

The Admissions Director is responsible for the overall development, coordination and implementation of
all admission management and census development


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Networks, advertises, and develops targets for future referral sources
2. Understands and implements standards, policies, and procedures for the admission process
3. Administers and processes all daily information for census
4. Facilitates pre-admission review process
5. Collects information and funds to secure admissions and bed holds
6. Develops meaningful relationships with referral sources and with the community
7. Responds to public and media inquiries in a professional manner according to company policy
8. Manages multiple assignments in highly pressured situations, meets tight deadlines and schedules.
9. Coordinates education for community and referral sources regarding services offered by center
10. Trains staff in developing plans to promote census and exhibit exceptional customer service
11. Conducts and develops center staff to provide exceptional service including telephone etiquette,
tours, and interviews
12. Implements customer satisfaction surveys with families and directs surveys to corporate office
13. Maintains census development by tracking status of occupancy and targeting census mix
14. Coordinates admissions by researching inquiries, tours, and coordinates with center disciplines
15. Collects data to be processed and finalized during the admission process
16. Notifies all staff of scheduled admissions, LOA, bed hold and discharges
17. Conducts center tours to prospective resident and their families.
18. Manages department budget, ensures adequate departmental equipment and supplies
19. Attends Department Head meetings and carries out all decisions and plans made.
20. Attends all required in-services.
21. Designs and implements an admission process which meets the federal, state and company
guidelines, including completion of all required documentation, family and/or resident interviews,
communication with referred agencies, Administrator, Director of Nursing and/or Assistant
Director of Nursing regarding the feasibility of admissions and appropriate placement.
 

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred or 3 years’ experience in sales/marketing, healthcare or
related field
2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills including public speaking; strong organizational
skills with attention to detail; professional manner and appearance
3. Must be flexible, detail-orientation, ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and be able to make
effective decisions
