Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a B.S. or Pharm.D. Degree required.
  • Current, valid, and active license as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of employment required.
  • Two years' related experience required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
Additional Qualifications/Skills:
  • Knowledge of and adherence to national pharmacist regulations and standards of practice
  • Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.

Responsibilities

The Director of Pharmacy is the primary individual responsible for the full operation and management of the Pharmacy Department. While occasional assistance with pharmacist duties may occur, the Director of Pharmacy is expected to spend the large majority of his or her time managing and directing the operations of the Pharmacy Department and supervising the work of personnel in the Pharmacy Department. In the course of managing and directing the operations of the Pharmacy Department, the Director of Pharmacy is expected to demonstrate compliance with the hospital's mission and "Guiding Principles".

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, education and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It's not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
