Job description

Overview

NDC Construction is seeking an entrepreneurial construction leader to launch and grow our Southeast operations based in the Atlanta market. This is a unique opportunity for a proven construction professional to take ownership of a new regional expansion initiative with the backing, resources, and support of an established and successful commercial construction firm.

Unlike traditional Director of Operations roles, this position offers the opportunity to help shape the strategy, structure, client relationships, and long-term growth of an entire regional business unit.

You'll partner closely with executive leadership, an established Atlanta-based Project Manager, and the broader NDC team to build a scalable operation across Georgia and the Southeast.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the growth and development of NDC's Southeast operations.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with owners, architects, consultants, and industry partners.
  • Identify, pursue, and help secure new project opportunities.
  • Oversee project execution, operational performance, and client satisfaction.
  • Help establish operational processes, procedures, and scalable systems for the Southeast region.
  • Participate in preconstruction, budgeting, project planning, and strategic decision-making.
  • Build and mentor future project teams, superintendents, and operational staff as backlog grows.
  • Serve as the face of NDC in the Atlanta and Southeast markets.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on regional growth strategy and long-term planning.
  • Drive both operational excellence and business development initiatives to support long-term market expansion.

Successful Candidates Will Bring:

  • 10+ years of commercial construction experience.
  • Experience leading teams, projects, or business units.
  • Strong relationships within the Atlanta and/or Southeast construction market.
  • Experience managing client relationships and business development efforts.
  • Ability to help build structure, process, and scalable operations.
  • Experience overseeing projects from pursuit through closeout.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, operations, project controls, and team development.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to help build something from the ground up.

What Will Make You Successful

  • An established professional network throughout the Southeast construction market.
  • Existing relationships with owners, developers, architects, engineers, consultants, and industry partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate business opportunities and cultivate long-term client relationships.
  • A reputation for leadership, accountability, and delivering exceptional client experiences.
  • The ability to leverage market relationships to help expand NDC's presence and secure new opportunities.
  • A passion for building teams, mentoring people, and creating lasting impact.

Preferred Project Experience

Experience within one or more of the following sectors is highly desirable:

  • Healthcare
  • Veterinary
  • Higher Education
  • Corporate Interiors
  • Commercial Construction
  • Institutional Projects

Why Join NDC?

This is not a maintenance role. This is a growth role.

NDC has spent the last several years laying the groundwork for expansion into the Southeast market. The company is licensed in Georgia, has existing client relationships that overlap between New England and the Southeast, active project opportunities in the market, and an experienced Atlanta-based Project Manager already in place.

The Director of Operations will have the opportunity to help shape the future of the Southeast division while receiving support from executive leadership, estimating and preconstruction teams, accounting, payroll, and operational resources.

For the right leader, this is an opportunity to create something meaningful, build a team, establish a market presence, and play a significant role in the long-term growth of the organization.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Target base salary range begins around $150,000+, with flexibility based on experience and market impact
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Vehicle allowance
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits
  • Long-term leadership and growth opportunities

Location

Atlanta, Georgia (Perimeter Area)

This role will be based in the Atlanta market and requires regular in-person engagement with clients, partners, project teams, and the local office.
