Job description

Position Title: Member Services Concierge

Reports To: Director of Member Services

Department: Member Services

Employment Dates: Temporary Seasonal; Mid-May through Mid-October

Rate: $20-$25 per hour

Purpose of Position: Under the direction of the Director of Member Services, the Member Services Concierge is a non-exempt temporary seasonal position responsible for providing concierge services to members and their guests. Ensures the highest level of service as meets expectations of Club members. Performs all work in accordance with essential functions and responsibilities as described below and in the spirit of the Club’s mission and vision.

Responsibilities:

Duties shall include but not be limited to:

  • Anticipates and fulfills members and their guests’ needs and requests within the guidelines of Nantucket Golf Club. Cultivates a professional relationship with members, creating a welcoming “home away from home” environment, and providing expert service with exceptional responsiveness.
  • Provides personal services of the highest level that may include, but not limited, to restaurant reservations, recreation requests, transportation arrangements, and simple office needs such as shipping and copying. Is knowledgeable of local current attractions and events. Arranges, suggests, recommends, books, and confirms deliverable services.
  • Under the direction of Director of Member Services, assures prompt and positive action on any complaints, questions, concerns and suggestions and keeps them informed of same.
  • Answers phones using professional phone etiquette in handling member requests.
  • Under the direction of Director of Member Services, professionally, respectfully, and tactfully enforces Club policies with members, as needed.
  • Checks members and guest into the Cottages, ensuring they are comfortable and that any requests are met. Coordinates reservation requests with the Director of Member Services.
  • Assists the Director of Member Services and Catering & Events Manager in planning and conducting special events, such as on and off-site member parties, golf outings, and Club tournaments.
  • Responsible for the correct appearance and cleanliness of Lobby and Ladies Locker Room areas. Informs Housekeeping and Director of Member Services of cleaning and maintenance concerns.
  • Takes dining room reservations, as needed in coordination with Food and Beverage management and guides the reservations schedules mindful of capacities. Is knowledgeable of, and accommodates members’ preferences.
  • Stays aware of who is on Club property. Coordinates members and guests arrivals and departures with Valet.
  • Secures Clubhouse areas as designated. Follows Club safety and security procedures.
  • Assists with preparation and delivery of daily and weekly Member Services reports under the direction of the Director of Member Services.
  • Performs other duties as designated by the Director of Member Services.
