JOIN OUR TEAM AS A LICENSED ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF INTAKE!
Your Work MattersHow will you make a difference?
We are excited to announce an opening for the Assistant Director of Assessment & Referral (Intake) at Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital. This role is pivotal in our mission to provide exceptional psychiatric care. As the Assistant Director, you will play a key role in responding to referrals and other service requests, under the supervision of the Director of Intake and working closely with our Chief Nursing Officer to manage intake services and staff. You will also provide clinical direction to our assessment counselors, ensuring the delivery of high-quality psychiatric assessment services. This position offers a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with medical staff, department heads, and external stakeholders while contributing to the overall success of our hospital.
  • Document and process inquiry calls in accordance with A&R policies.
  • Ensure patients are assessed and stabilized before discharge or admission is arranged.
  • Notify and assist the on-call doctor with patient interviews.
  • Complete admission paperwork according to hospital policy.
  • Maintain an intake (EMTALA) log with all relevant information documented.
  • Obtain precertification in line with insurance requirements.
  • Demonstrate guest relations and counsel staff needing training.
  • Notify administration of problems or significant events.
  • Identify safety problems and take corrective actions.

Your Experience Matters What we're looking for:
  • Education & Licensure: Master's degree or work towards a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, mental health, or a related field preferred. An RN, social work, or counseling license in the State of Washington is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting is desirable. Working knowledge of the Addiction & Recovery field, experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities, and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds are preferred.
  • Additional Skill Requirements: Completed training of crisis management/prevention techniques.

Compensation:
