Full-Time | Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Job Purpose or Objective(s): As the Economic Developer, you will be responsible for implementing economic development goals, strategies, policies in an assigned geographic region. This position drives economic growth, fosters business development, and enhances the overall economic vitality of our region to increase revenue generation. You will report to the Senior Manager of Economic Development.
Primary Tasks:
1. Participate in the development and implementation of comprehensive economic development strategies to attract investment, create jobs, and stimulate growth in the region.
2. Cultivate relationships with local, regional, and national stakeholders including businesses, government agencies, community organizations, and educational institutions to identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership.
3. Provide guidance and support to businesses and entrepreneurs, including assistance with site selection, access to financing, workforce development, and regulatory compliance.
4. Conduct research and analysis to identify industry trends, market opportunities, and competitive advantages to inform economic development initiatives.
5. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the permitting and regulatory process for economic development projects.
6. Participate in economic development projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and performance monitoring.
7. Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and events to promote economic development initiatives and build strategic alliances.
8. Stay informed of best practices, emerging trends, and legislative developments in the field of economic development.
9. Support local promotion strategies to attract visitors to the region, increase tourism spending, and showcase local attractions, events, and experiences. Collaborate with local tourism organizations and stakeholders to coordinate marketing efforts and enhance the visitor experience.
10. You will perform other duties as may be assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, specializing in public administration, economics, finance, accounting, management, or related discipline plus five [5] years of directly related experience, OR nine [9] years of directly related experience in lieu of education.
• Ability to identify, research, plan, organize and implement initiatives and programs to increase new business opportunities and current business portfolio.
• Prior experience with program management of full new business life cycle including business pre-launch analysis and planning, startup launch activities and post- launch execution activities.
