Job description

Job Summary

The Director of Distribution is a strategic, infrastructure-oriented role focused on building and maintaining the tools, systems, and tracking frameworks that enable field execution across the organization. Operating primarily behind the scenes, this role works closely with JECO Corporate to develop the operational resources that GSMs, RSMs, and distribution teams depend on to perform at a high level.

The Director of Distribution serves as a key extension of the VP of Sales & Distribution’s leadership, supporting GSMs in building and presenting business plans and helping to bridge operational execution and strategic planning across the division. This role does not manage field teams directly but plays a critical role in equipping those teams with the infrastructure they need to succeed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Designs, builds, and maintains operational tools and tracking systems that support field execution across all divisions.
  • Partners with JECO Corporate to develop resources, reporting frameworks, and infrastructure that enable GSMs and RSMs to manage their markets effectively.
  • Supports GSMs in the development and presentation of annual business plans, ensuring alignment with divisional and organizational goals.
  • Monitors execution metrics and KPIs across the distribution network, identifying gaps and working cross-functionally to develop solutions.
  • Builds and maintains reporting dashboards and performance tracking tools that provide leadership with real-time visibility into field execution.
  • Collaborates with the VP of Sales & Distribution to translate strategic priorities into operational systems and processes.
  • Develops and maintains a working knowledge of DSD technology platforms including Encompass, WingTips, and related tools to ensure systems are being utilized effectively across the organization.
  • Supports the rollout of new programs, initiatives, and organizational changes by building the operational infrastructure needed for successful execution.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce friction, and increase accountability within the distribution operation.
  • Manages project timelines and deliverables for key distribution-related initiatives, ensuring completion on time and to specifications.
  • Prepares and presents operational analyses, summaries, and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work independently and drive projects to completion without direct oversight.
  • Current driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Physical Requirements

  • Repeatedly lifting 25 pounds including overhead.
  • Ability to stand and walk frequently.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field; 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of education.
  • At least three years of experience in distribution, operations, or a related field within the beverage industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of the DSD beverage distribution model strongly preferred.
  • Experience building operational tools, reporting systems, or business planning frameworks preferred.
  • Project management certifications are highly desirable.
