Job Title: Full Time Administrative Faculty - Director of Clinical Education, Division of Counseling

Summary of Position:    Indiana Wesleyan University's School of Integrated Health Division of Counseling invites applications for a full-time administrative faculty position with experience in counseling, supervision, and program management. This is full-time appointment which will encompass the coordination of the practicum and internship courses, internship programs and the supervision of the onsite clinics within the Division of Counseling. Students within the Division of Counseling are pursing degrees in BS and MA in Addictions Counseling, the MA in School Counseling, the MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, the MA in Community Care, and the MA in Marriage & Family Counseling.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinates clinical activities (practicum/ internship) of the Division and its programs 
• Functions as the administrative executive for the Division's Counseling Clinics
  • While there are currently Clinic Coordinators who oversee the day-to-day operations of the clinics, the Director of Clinical Services will serve as the direct report. Therefore, it will be imperative to know the processes related to:
    • the management of requests for services, assignments of clients to student counselors
    • the recordkeeping and documentation of cases
    • the policies of an ethical and safe clinical site
• Maintain and revise practicum/internship processes
  • Ensures compliance with state, CACREP, and AAMFT standards regarding supervision and documentation of clinical hours
• Champion for Experiential Learning Cloud, which is the system used by Practicum/Internship students for paperwork, hours tracking, and class assignments
• Serves as the Practicum / Internship coordinator for the Division of Counseling students, which means developing and maintaining effective working relationships with practicum/internship sites and site supervisors
• Serves as site supervisor, in coordination with the Clinic Coordinators, for practicum / internship students seeing clients at university clinics
  • Conducts weekly supervision and consultation as needed to practicum students and interns in accordance with CACREP and other accreditation standards
  • Conducts orientation, in coordination with the Clinic Coordinators, to all incoming students, regarding practicum / internship (incl. use of clinic technology) and provides tours for prospective students as needed
  • Provides administrative supervision to students on regularly scheduled review of clinical records, including the maintenance and storage of the physical files
  • Teaches minimum of four Practicum / Internship courses per year
  • Provides feedback on professional development of students to specialization coordinators and program director and division chair
  • Participates in Departmental and institutional committees as assigned
  • Serves as Liaison between the Clinic, client, university, and community
  • Establishes and maintains resource and referral network with regional practitioners, agencies, church, and para-church organizations
  • Conducts program evaluation for quality assurance and to ensure fulfillment of division objectives
  • Revises clinical forms and Clinical Experience Manual as needed
  • Monitors functioning of clinic technology
  • Conducts and assists faculty in clinically-based research
  • Models excellence and interacts with staff, students, clients, and faculty in a professional and ethical manner
  • Demonstrates skill in the integration of theology and counseling theory in the conceptualization and treatment of clients

Education

• An earned master's degree in counseling or closely related field with preference to those with a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision

Experience

• Applicants must have a full clinical license as counselor or therapist
• Applicants must have worked at least two years in the field of counseling at a professional, supervisory, or faculty-level status
• Applicants must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Required Skills

• Ability to learn, use, and teach in an onsite and online modality
• Computer Software skills such as online learning platforms, navigating online library services, using software packages such as Microsoft Office
• Working knowledge of APA format
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• An awareness of higher education academic and administrative processes with an eye toward professional licensing and credentialing processes.
• A solid track record as a collaborative leader with effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and a strong interest in realizing IWU's institutional learning outcomes.
