What You'll Do
  • Support the broader Corporate Strategy & Business Development team in the development and execution of acquisition and partnership-led strategies as well as with continuous portfolio optimization
  • Market and competitive research
  • Collaboration with leaders in the development of inorganic growth strategies ("M&A vectors") in alignment with each business' overall and CMC-level objectives-you'll also have an active role in the development of CMC's and business strategies
  • Ownership of CMC's acquisition pipeline and target company database
  • Coordination of deal sourcing with business and functional leaders
  • Development of individual deal value creation plans (i.e. deal thesis)
  • Construction and presentation of comprehensive investment committee memos to CMC's Executive Leadership Team-you'll be expected to be an active participant in conversations regarding investment decisions
  • Lead large, internal and external cross-functional teams and act as the lead interface with Sellers and their advisors through due diligence
  • Valuation modelling including financial planning and deep business analysis
  • Continuous improvement to CMC's M&A and Integration Playbooks

What You'll Need
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in M&A advisory, corporate development, corporate strategy, management consulting, corporate finance, private equity or equivalent
  • Ability to conduct market research - design & run market, competitive & regulatory insight programs, synthesize quantitative and qualitative information to support complex business hypotheses and data driven decisions
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements; experience with building detailed long range financial plans-significant expertise in Excel is a must
  • Exceptional financial acumen including experience with detailed sales, operational and capital spend analysis
  • Utilization of various valuation modeling techniques
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities
  • Prior construction materials industry experience not required but will be considered a plus
  • Available to travel >50% of the time
  • Must be authorized to work in the US; sponsorship is not available for this position
  • Strong intellectual curiosity with a passion for corporate strategy and M&A
  • Strong work ethic and a high sense of urgency with the proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
