Job description

360 Energy, Inc. | Austin, TX (in-office) | Full-time | Up to 50% travel 360 Energy is the leader in gas-to-computing infrastructure. While the rest of the industry sits in interconnect queues waiting years for someone else's grid capacity, we generate our own power in the oil field and turn underpriced energy directly into hashrate. We own the electron from pipeline to the ASIC. This means we own our cost basis, and our economics are structurally better than anyone buying power off the grid.

That advantage is why we are scaling fast: 20MW deployed today, 10MW under construction, 100+MW in the pipeline - a 400% growth in the last 18 months. We are a small team of highly motivated individuals chasing the same goal - winning the behind-the-meter compute race. Bitcoin mining is the most competitive operating environment in energy right now. Uptime, efficiency, and cost per terahash decide who survives the next halving. We intend to be the operator everyone else is measured against. This is the seat where that gets decided.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Director of Mining Operations to lead our mining operations across Texas, ensuring maximum uptime, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across our facilities. This is a leadership role, not a hands-on engineering role. You will own the operation through the people who run it: hiring and developing site teams, setting standards and KPIs, holding the organization accountable to them, and building the processes that enable rapid, responsible growth. You will work directly with our executive team on day-to-day operations, planning, budgets, and expansion. The role is based in our Austin office and requires regular time on site (expect to travel up to 50% of the time).

Location:

Austin, TX, predominantly in-office. Candidates must be local to Austin or willing to relocate.

Travel: Up to 50% to our West Texas mining site and other Company work locations.

Reports to: Senior leadership; partners directly with the C-suite.

Team: Hires, leads, and manages the site operations and technician team. WHAT YOU'LL OWN Operations Leadership Own day-to-day operations across 360 Energy's Bitcoin mining facilities in Texas Ensure maximum uptime, operational stability, and consistent performance across all sites Develop and improve operational standards, processes, and KPIs, and make sure they are followed in the field Monitor operational health and proactively resolve issues affecting production before they become outages Own incident response and post-mortem processes, closing the loop on root cause and prevention Hire, lead, and develop the site operations managers, technicians, and maintenance staff Establish clear performance expectations and hold the team accountable for day-to-day execution Build scalable operational processes and staffing plans as the organization grows Foster a safety-first, performance-driven culture on every shift and at every site Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for the operations team, and make sure people are trained on them Operational Excellence Analyze operational metrics and identify opportunities for optimization Improve equipment availability, energy efficiency, and maintenance planning Report performance to the executive team: what the numbers are, what is driving them, and what you are doing about it Manage the operations budget and drive cost discipline across labor, parts, and vendors Ensure compliance with Company standards, industry safety requirements, and local regulations Infrastructure & Maintenance Oversight Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs across the fleet and supporting infrastructure Ensure efficient operation of power, cooling, networking, and mining infrastructure Coordinate hardware deployment, repairs, replacements, and capacity expansion Drive continuous improvement in infrastructure reliability and operational efficiency Own the parts and repair supply chain, including vendor management, spares inventory, and warranty administration Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with the C-suite and with our engineering, power generation, procurement, and finance functions Support expansion projects, new site launches, and operational scaling Manage relationships with hardware vendors, contractors, and service providers Represent 360 Energy professionally with third-party clients and hosting partners WHAT YOU BRING 5+ years managing large-scale data center and bitcoin mining operations 3+ years leading operational teams in a management role, with real hiring, development, and accountability responsibility Strong understanding of mission-critical infrastructure, including electrical systems, cooling, networking, and hardware operations. You do not need to be the deepest technical person in the room, but you need to speak the language and ask the right questions Experience managing multiple teams, vendors, and operational KPIs Proven track record of improving operational efficiency and reliability with measurable results Budget and cost management experience in an operations environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the judgment to make calls quickly Excellent communication and leadership abilities across technicians, executives, vendors, and clients Based in Austin or willing to relocate, and able to travel up to 50% of the time Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check NICE TO HAVE Experience in oil & gas or HPC (High Performance Computing) operations Experience with large-scale electrical infrastructure or behind-the-meter power generation Background in industrial manufacturing, energy, oil & gas, cloud infrastructure, or data centers Experience managing multi-site operations and standing up new sites Knowledge of safety and compliance standards for industrial facilities (OSHA, NFPA 70E) WORK ENVIRONMENT Primarily office-based in Austin, with regular travel to active sites High motivation and intense dedication to the trade is required.
