Job Summary:
NLB Services is a company focused on providing specialized staffing solutions, and they are seeking a Network Engineer to design, test, implement, and support network infrastructure. The role involves providing consultation, technical support, and ensuring compliance with IT security policies while managing network configurations and operational statuses.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for designing, testing, implementing, and supporting network infrastructure.
• Provide consultation and direct technical support in life cycle planning, problem management, integration, and network configuration.
• Supports and administers firewall environments in line with IT security policy.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
• Reports network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing projects.
• Performs basic configuration of firewalls.
• Provides remote support of on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation.
• Provides remote troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur upon initial installation.
• Communicates with customers via email and phone for initial requirement capture.
• Undertakes data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments, using information from multiple sources.
• Secures network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access.
• Upgrades data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases.
• Configures routing and switching equipment.
• Configures hosted IP voice services.
• Performs capacity management and auditing of IP addressing and hosted devices within data centers.
