Job description

ROLE SUMMARY

The Intersect Group is seeking an Engineering Manager, Network Infrastructure to lead a globally distributed network engineering team while remaining deeply involved in the technical design, implementation, and operation of enterprise network solutions. This is a true player coach role designed for a hands on network leader who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while mentoring and developing engineering talent.

In this position, you will drive network architecture decisions, oversee critical infrastructure supporting enterprise and data center operations, and serve as a senior escalation point for high impact incidents. You will help shape the future of the network environment while balancing operational stability, engineering excellence, and long term scalability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of network engineers across multiple regions and time zones

• Design, review, and implement enterprise network solutions with a focus on data center and core network infrastructure

• Serve as the technical escalation point for complex routing, switching, connectivity, and performance issues

• Manage Cisco ACI environments including APIC administration, tenant architecture, EPG design, policy management, and platform upgrades

• Oversee Cisco Nexus environments and support enterprise routing using BGP and OSPF protocols

• Lead Data Center Interconnect initiatives and maintain resilient internet facing connectivity solutions

• Establish network engineering standards, operational documentation, and best practices across the organization

• Drive root cause analysis, major incident resolution, change management activities, and continuous improvement efforts

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• 8+ years of hands on network engineering experience within enterprise or data center environments

• 2+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing network engineering teams

• Strong expertise with Cisco ACI including APIC, tenants, EPGs, multisite environments, and lifecycle management

• Advanced knowledge of Cisco Nexus OS, enterprise routing, BGP, OSPF, and Data Center Interconnect architectures

• Experience designing and supporting large scale data center, edge, and core networking environments

• Ability to remain hands on with architecture reviews, production troubleshooting, configuration validation, and technical decision making

• Experience developing engineering standards, operational processes, and infrastructure documentation

• Strong communication, leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Nexus Dashboard, VXLAN, Cisco ISE, or SolarWinds

• Background supporting hybrid cloud or cloud connected network environments

• Experience with network automation, observability, resiliency, or infrastructure modernization initiatives

• Previous experience serving as a Lead Network Engineer, Network Architect, or Technical Lead

• Cisco certifications such as CCNP or CCIE, or equivalent practical experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Onsite work environment with preference for candidates located in the Atlanta area

• Candidates located in Dayton, Ohio or Dallas, Texas will also be considered
