Candidate Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Network Engineering within the IT Infrastructure Services you will be part of the group's newly established network engineering team. You are a senior wireless engineer with extensive experience and located within commute distance of one of the company's center of excellence in Orlando, Florida US or Dublin Ireland. The role will be supporting company's newly announced corporate strategy delivering transformational projects to improve employee productivity, collaboration and mobility of which WIFI is seen as a key enabler.
Qualifications
Candidate Must Have:
- 7+ to 10 years of experience
- Extensive exposure to Cisco, Aruba WIFI technology
- Successful track record in deploying Guest WIFI services (including Active Portal/Cisco ISE) and solving BYOD challenges
- Strong knowledge of Autonomous, Lightweight and controller-less WIFI architectures and 802.11 specifications and their deployments including site surveys, including geographies with specific local encryption and frequency regulations eg.China
- Able to develop new WIFI Services solutions to deliver unique business requirements
- Experience of Device Certificates to enable 802.1x
- Understanding of IaaS /Cloud WIFI offerings and ability to make strategic recommendations
- Demonstrate ability to boost collaboration efforts (both Lync and Jabber) and performance on WIFI
- Experience of self-healing WIFI, client load balancing, dynamic RF management, and L2/L3 roaming
- Expert knowledge in WLAN intrusion detection and policy enforcement - Motorola Air Defence, Fluke Air Magnet.
- Knowledge of Security Protocols and specifically their weaknesses and authentication (AAA, Radius, - 2-factor, WPA, WPA-2), logging
- Extensive experience in Enterprise or Complex Network environment
- Previous history of developing and writing technical RFI/RFP documents
- Self Starter with demonstrated experience of delivering large scale large budget network projects
- Strong skills in developing and writing architectural and equipment standards
- Experience in developing standards and process in transitioning engineering projects to Network Operations
- Excellent communication in English and ability to present and interface with Symantec Business units at Executive level
- Demonstrate understanding of network security including risk management and compliance
- Familiarity with the following services IPAM/DNS/DHCP/TACACS-AAA, NTP and strong underlying knowledge of WAN routing and technologies including BGP, EIGRP, Cisco routers and switches, MPLS and QoS..
- Minimum Education - Bachelor's Degree
- Willingness to Travel - Occasionally
