Job Description:ย 

L3Harris is looking for a TDM Network Control Specialist who will support a large nationwide customer. This individual will be a key member of the Network Operations Control Center (NOCC), and they willย closely supportย the geographically dispersed network and teamย locatedย throughout North America. The TDM Network Control Specialist willย be responsible forย being the first line of support for the customer and field team to troubleshoot andย assistย with developing solutions and support mission-critical programs.ย 

Essential Functions:ย 

  • Provide technical support for large private communications network. Handle first line of support forย customerย and field calls into an operations center.ย 

  • Log calls and perform preliminary investigations into reported network issues.ย 

  • Create trouble tickets and initiate workflow for problem resolution.ย 

  • Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot network problems within an operations center utilizing network management and monitoring tools.ย 

  • Employs various test methods used to remotely analyze fractional Enterprise Data networks including fractional T1; T1; fractional T3; T3; Ethernet; IP; and RF.ย 

  • Interprets equipment alarms in the networkย on-premiseย equipment or telco's network and move forward towards service restoration.ย 

  • Resolve problems using internal and external groups as needed to correct trouble on the network and interact with the customer.ย 

  • This position is part of an onsite 24x7x365 NOCC environment where working rotating shifts is an essential function of the position as required by business needs. Workday schedule flexibility isย required. This position is not eligible for remote work due to secure network access requirements.ย

Qualifications:ย 

  • To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a bachelor's degreeย inย Telecommunications, Engineering, Networking, or Information Technologyย or related field or have completed their bachelor's degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.

Preferred Skills:

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and the OSI Model (L1 through L4).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsย 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and translate technical information into clear, concise documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with documentation tools and software.
  • Familiarity with LAN/WAN/MAN technologies.
  • Interest in LTE and VPN technologies.
  • Experience with technical writing or documentation in a technical environment.
