Job Description

Prepare quarterly mine plan for management review and approval in accordance with five-year plans from Corporate. Execute plans and policies, schedule maintenance and achieve mine production goals at the lowest possible cost, all the while ensuring quality and safety requirements. Develop and direct mine production which includes: Loading, Hauling, Sizing, Crushing, Stockpiling, Ore Shipment to Plant, Waste Management, Stripping, Mine Planning, Road Watering and Maintenance, Tailings Disposal and Reclamation, all while remaining in conformance with MSHA and OSHA requirements. Monitor, evaluate, and direct the mine operation to ensure compliance with all regulations concerning air and water emissions, tailings disposal, land reclamation, erosion and sedimentation control under MSHA and OSHA regulations.

Supervise and schedule hourly personnel for weekly and quarterly operations and reports, vacations, time cards, etc. Manage problems or potential problems which affect the proper operation of the Mine. Problems may include personnel, labor, equipment, transportation, quality or raw materials. Maintain open communications with subordinates, peers, and superiors. Administer required mine modeling software. Direct the activities of all outside contractors haulage, blasting, stripping and reclamation activities.
