Director Mining Jobs in Minnesota (NOW HIRING)

We are offering a $5,000 signon bonus for a Resident Technician located within, or willing to relocate within, 50 miles of Virginia, MN to support our operations in Northern Minnesota. This role focuses on performing basic service, maintenance, and repair work on mining equipment within Iron Ore mining operations, with occasional support for nonmining customers in the surrounding area. The ideal candidate has solid mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn, the ability to work independently, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Provide maintenance, diagnostics, and repair support for equipment operating in Iron Ore mining environments
• Deliver service support to both mining and nonmining customers within the assigned territory
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs on a wide range of mechanical systems with minimal supervision
• Maintain accurate service documentation, work orders, and reporting in company systems
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company safety policies and industry regulations
• Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and leadership regarding equipment status and service needs
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and overall customer satisfaction

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Resident Technician Within 50 miles of Virginia, MN. To support operations in Northern Minnesota. This position is primarily responsible for servicing and maintaining mining equipment within Iron Ore mining operations, while also providing support to non-mining customers in the surrounding area. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance, diagnostics, and repair support for equipment operating in Iron Ore mining environments
• Deliver service support to both mining and non-mining customers within the assigned territory
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs on a wide range of mechanical systems with minimal supervision
• Maintain accurate service documentation, work orders, and reporting in company systems
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company safety policies and industry regulations
• Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and leadership regarding equipment status and service needs
• Identify opportunities for improved reliability, uptime, and customer satisfaction

Required Qualifications

• Strong mechanical background with proven hands-on experience
• Proficiency in basic computer systems for diagnostics, reporting, and work order management
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage time and responsibilities without direct supervision
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel within assigned service area

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with high horsepower engines
• Background in mining equipment or heavy equipment service environments
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and advanced troubleshooting techniques

Work Environment & Expectations

• Work is performed in both field and industrial environments, including mining sites
• Mandatory participation in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 operational support
• Required to work overtime, including extended hours, evenings, and weekends, based on business and customer demands
• Must be able to respond to service calls outside of standard working hours as needed
• Must be able to adapt to changing schedules and operational priorities
• Commitment to maintaining a high level of safety, quality, and customer service

-A current valid license is required for this role
-This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
-This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
-3 years driving experience
-This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
-Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age

-A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
-Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• A strong mechanical background with proven handson experience
• Proficiency with basic computer systems used for diagnostics, reporting, and workorder management
• The ability to work independently and manage time and responsibilities effectively without direct supervision
• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel within the assigned service area

• Experience working with highhorsepower engines
• Background in mining equipment or heavyequipment service environments
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and advanced troubleshooting techniques

• Work is performed in both field and industrial settings, including active mining sites
• Mandatory participation in an oncall rotation to support 24/7 operations
• Required overtime, including extended hours, evenings, and weekends, based on business and customer needs
• Ability to respond to service calls outside standard working hours when necessary
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules, workloads, and operational priorities
• Strong commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer service

• ApprenticeTrained Engine Technician (Preferred)
• Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution
• Locally valid driving permit
• This position may require licensing for compliance with exportcontrol or sanctions regulations
