Job description

Overview
Commercial Engineering & AI (CEAI) partners with stakeholders to transform Microsoft support through AI-native engineering, modern platforms, and intelligent customer experiences. Our teams design, build, and operate secure, reliable, and scalable services that help customers find information, resolve issues, and connect with the right support.
Support Experience Group (SxG) is the engineering organization within Commercial Engineering & AI (CEAI) that builds and operates the platforms powering Microsoft's Customer Experience & Success (CE&S) support mission, including Dynamics for Microsoft (DfM) case management, CaseBuddy, Engage Center, the SxG ICon support portals, and AI-agent services. SxG delivers these across commercial and sovereign/government cloud boundaries including public/commercial Azure, and several specialized cloud environments, which includes a compliance-sensitive, multi-cloud footprint that drives a persistent need for cleared, high-side-capable engineers.
You will join a small team of cleared high-side engineers supporting SxG's expanding scope and rising demand on the government and air-gapped cloud environments SxG supports. This team delivers the cloud parity charter, bringing Microsoft's commercial-grade customer-support capabilities (DfM case management, CaseBuddy, Engage Center, and AI-agent services) to government and sovereign customers whose environments are disconnected from the commercial cloud and governed by federal compliance and accreditation requirements.
The work is distinct from commercial engineering: every capability we ship must be adapted to operate without direct internet connectivity, validated against the security controls of each cloud, and deployed through constrained, audited release pipelines. You will work across the full stack and the full delivery lifecycle, and your decisions directly affect whether high-side customers get parity with the commercial support experience.
Responsibilities
  • Design, document, implement, test, and deploy resilient, scalable services, individually and alongside the other high-side engineers on the team.

  • Design, build, and operate secure, 24x7 SaaS services that integrate Dynamics 365, Azure Communication Services, and Azure AI services.

  • Partner with Program Managers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical designs the team can execute.

  • Collaborate with other software engineers in a diverse and inclusive environment.

  • Port and adapt commercial services to run in disconnected government and air-gapped environments, resolving connectivity, dependency, and data-boundary constraints to close capability gaps against the parity charter.

  • Own features end-to-end, from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and live-site health, across multiple cloud environments.

  • Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code and safe-deployment pipelines using EV2 and Bicep to release reliably into commercial, government, and air-gapped clouds.

  • Integrate AI-driven automation and agents into support workflows and operate them under government compliance constraints.

  • Diagnose and resolve live-site incidents, and improve the monitoring, reliability, and security posture of services in accredited environments.

  • Partner with security, compliance, and accreditation stakeholders to meet the controls required for each cloud.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

requirements are required pre-offer and post-hire for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the
appropriate U.S. Government clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in

  • Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security
clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide
clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud
background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due
to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal,

citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal
requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or
    verified US government Clearance
