About The Role

ZT Systems is seeking a highly experienced Director of Mechanical Engineering to lead a team responsible for the design and development of advanced server solutions. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration across global teams.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the mechanical engineering team in the development of server and rack-level systems from concept through production.
  • Direct system architecture, design reviews, prototyping, validation, and implementation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, thermal, firmware, and manufacturing to ensure cohesive product development.
  • Engage directly with customers and suppliers to gather requirements and deliver tailored mechanical solutions.
  • Balance cost, performance, quality, and schedule across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Provide technical mentorship and career development for engineering staff.
  • Drive innovation in mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in mechanical and structural design, with a focus on electro-mechanical systems.
  • 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, especially in data center environments.
  • Expertise in thermal management, structural design, vibration control, and high-volume manufacturing techniques (e.g., sheet metal, injection molding).
  • Strong grasp of the interplay between mechanical, electrical, thermal, power, firmware, and networking systems.
