Job Description

A highly collaborative position for someone who can provide leadership to the middle school staff in support of the buildingโ€™s strategic School Improvement Plan by promoting innovative approaches to teaching and learning. The successful candidate in this role will work with the building principal to develop curricula and support pedagogy that incorporate concepts of design thinking and creative problem solving, inclusive practices and rigorous curriculum design to promote deeper learning and foster student engagement.

This position will report to the building principal as a member of the buildingโ€™s Instructional Leadership Team. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities and the ability to build trusting relationships across all grade levels and content areas.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support both the staff and administration with high quality professional development (e.g. coaching, strategic thought partnerships)
  • Support implementation of innovative practices and new approaches to teaching and learning
  • Development of curriculum, evaluation of staff and programs, and analysis of data measure efficacy
Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, curriculum design and assessment of learning outcomes
  • Familiarity with the design thinking framework
  • Deep understanding of Universal Design for Learning and Inclusive Practices
  • Mathematical background is highly desirable.
Requirements
  • Valid Massachusetts DESE licensure in Science or Mathematics, as well as Administrator licensure
  • Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement (required within one year of start date)
  • At leasttwo (2)years of relevant experience preferred
  • Master\'s Degree as well as CAGS from an accredited college or university in the appropriate content area
Compensation
  • Compensation is set in accordance with the Beverly School Administrators and Directors Association collective bargaining agreement and is commensurate with experience and education.
