Major Accounts Executive

Startng Salary Range ($84,980-$127,470)

The Major Accounts Executive is responsible for providing the best possible customer service for PGW's existing large commercial and industrial customers as well as developing new business in this market.  This includes providing individual attention, customized product/service offerings and first-rate account management, overseeing contract abrogation, developing innovative strategies and negotiating deals that satisfy the customers' needs while retaining and expanding existing gas load and associated margins. 

Responsibilities

Develop sales by crafting and negotiating individual deals under the supervision of the Director - Major Accounts; leads in the preparation and deliver presentations of solutions and recommendations to customers.

Maximize margins available to PGW from its local gas distribution system by:

                                                                Managing margins associated with current connected gas equipment.

                                                                Adding profitable additional gas load to existing accounts.

                                                                Connecting profitable gas load from new customers.

Create new revenues for PGW by providing customers with energy solutions via energy audits, energy analyses, turnkey solutions, financing arrangements, etc.

Retain and increase gas load and margin contribution associated with Major Account customers.

Represent PGW with Professional Associations in order to develop relationships with Commercial Real Estate Developers, Architects, Engineers and contractors that will drive business for PGW.

Manage daily sales, customer maintenance activities and customer relationships for assigned groups of existing customers, targeted leads and customers in the sales process including but not limited to:

                                                                Defining customer requirements and offering creative customized solutions to meet these needs.

                                                                Maintaining an extensive territory network for gathering market intelligence.

                                                                Planning and executing sales/customer events.

                                                                Document and update project data throughout the sales process within PGW's CRM program

                                                                and work management systems.

Gather, analyze, create, maintain and share customer/competitive data in an understandable, shared format.

Develop strategies and recommendations for making pricing decisions which will maximize PGW margins.

Create profitable business with new customers as well as develop new margin opportunities with existing customers by:

                                                                Maintaining relationships, educating customers on energy alternatives, defining customer

                                                                requirements, developing solutions and presenting to customers.

                                                                Stimulating customer interest in equipment and technologies that utilize natural gas.

                                                                Develop an understanding of customers industry, company, locations and economic drivers

                                                                necessary for their success.

                                                                Maintaining relationships and communications with key personnel.

                                                                Developing and following up leads to potential customers.

Develop project economics and DCF from PGW and customers views.

Perform other special projects and assignments as directed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Marketing or other related areas.

4 to 6 years in Commercial Real Estate Development, Marketing or Energy/HVAC Sales with an emphasis on consultative and/or direct sales, project management and preferably within a public or utility service agency.

Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certificate is preferred but not required.

Knowledge of sales and marketing principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services including product demonstration, sales techniques, and marketing strategy tactics.

Knowledge of customer service principles and processes for providing good customer service including needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Must have problem solving skills with the ability to apply learned marketing and sales principles to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.

Must have verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build long-term constructive and cooperative working relationships with co-workers, vendors, management and outside agencies.

Must have knowledge and understanding of industry terminology, equipment, (Combined Heat and Power, Fuel Cells, Heat Pumps, Boilers, CNG Vehicles), product and services, regulatory environment and PGW Tariff.

Must have a valid Pennsylvania Driver's license and a clean driving record.

Must also pass a pre-employment physical and screening for alcohol and illicit/illegal drugs prior to beginning work.  Which includes testing for substances including but not limited to marijuana
