Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Machine Shop Manager to lead our team at our facility located in Westminster, MD, 21157. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our machine shop operations, ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operations of the machine shop, including scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of machinists and technicians, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Monitor production quality and implement improvements as necessary to meet customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize processes and reduce lead times.
  • Maintain equipment and machinery, ensuring they are in good working condition and conducting regular maintenance checks.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on production metrics, employee performance, and equipment status.
  • Implement training programs for new hires and ongoing development for existing staff.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in a machine shop environment, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role required in lieu of bachelor's degree.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, tools, and equipment.
