Job description

M&K Truck Centers is a multi-state leader in commercial truck sales, leasing, parts and service. The Body Shop Manager is responsible for the profitability of one of the area’s premier full service Truck Body Shops and will manage M&K Truck Centers’ relationship with the customers by promoting, providing estimates, and following-up on work performed in the body shop. This manager is also expected to keep the shop compliant with regulatory requirements from local, state, and federal agencies such as OSHA, EPA, and the Department of Labor.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage body shop supplies

  • Use estimating software to assist in the creation of itemized estimates for customers and insurance companies

  • Communicate with appraisers for supplemental repair amounts

  • Manage deadlines and budgets of repairs to meet estimated amounts

  • Manage tech efficiencies and productivity

  • Establish and monitor the quality of work

  • Work within manufacturer warranty guidelines for proper submission of warranty claims pertaining to repairs performed in the body shop

  • Manage, lead and supervise body shop technicians

  • Manage collection of payments for repairs

Skills

  • Knowledge of vehicle paint processes – preparing, mixing, tinting, application, and troubleshooting

  • Estimate repair times of fiberglass, sheet metal, chassis frames, and structural damage to cabs and sleepers

  • Experience obtaining LKQ parts

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to direct others

  • Customer focus

  • Ability to handle conflict and implement conflict resolution

Education and Experience

  • Associates degree/ Bachelor's degree preferred but not required

  • 5 years’ experience in Heavy Truck Repair/Management

  • 2 years of supervisory experience of 3 people or more

  • Familiarity with a dealer business system (CDK is preferred)

  • Valid driver’s license
