Now Hiring: Preschool Director

Colonial Hills United Methodist School

Colonial Hills United Methodist School is seeking an experienced, dedicated, and mission-driven Preschool Director to provide leadership and oversight for our Christ-centered early childhood program.

The Preschool Director serves as the educational and operational leader of the school, responsible for the overall success of the preschool, including daily operations, staff leadership, financial management, enrollment growth, curriculum excellence, licensing compliance, Texas Rising Star quality initiatives, family relationships, and partnership with Colonial Hills United Methodist Church.

We are looking for a collaborative leader who is passionate about early childhood education, building strong teams, supporting teachers, and creating an environment where children, families, and staff thrive.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience as a Director or Assistant Director in a licensed childcare or early childhood education setting
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required minimum qualification under Texas Child Care Regulation)
  • Texas Child Care Director Credential or actively working toward obtaining one
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience leading and maintaining Texas Rising Star certification and quality improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of Texas Health and Human Services Child Care Regulation and Texas Minimum Standards
  • Experience with curriculum implementation, teacher coaching, and classroom support
  • Experience implementing Conscious Discipline® practices
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, payroll oversight, and nonprofit financial management
  • Experience with enrollment management, childcare billing systems, and family communication platforms

Responsibilities Include

  • Overseeing all daily operations of the preschool
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, and retaining staff
  • Maintaining licensing compliance and Texas Rising Star requirements
  • Coordinating, securing, and overseeing required staff professional development and training
  • Supporting teachers through curriculum leadership, coaching, and professional development
  • Managing enrollment, attendance, billing, and childcare management systems such as Procare, Brightwheel, or similar platforms
  • Developing and managing budgets, financial forecasts, and tuition recommendations
  • Overseeing payroll and working with the school bookkeeper to ensure proper financial management
  • Leading marketing, communications, social media, and enrollment initiatives
  • Supporting fundraising efforts and community engagement
  • Building strong relationships with families, staff, church leadership, and community partners
  • Working collaboratively with the School Board, Pastor, and Facilities Coordinator of Colonial Hills United Methodist Church
