Are you a driven, field-savvy sales professional with a passion for helping scientists achieve more?
Join Mettler-Toledo Rainin, a global leader in precision laboratory tools, and bring world-class liquid handling solutions to top pharmaceutical, biotech, academic, government, and clinical organizations. We're seeking an experienced Lab Sales Specialist to manage and grow our Pacific Northwest territory. (Washington & Oregon) In this role, you will drive strategic account growth, deliver value-based selling, and build long-term customer partnerships. You'll represent our full Rainin portfolio, from instruments and consumables to calibration services and asset management solutions. This position reports directly to the District Manager for the West. You will be responsible for the following:
  • Manage and grow business within key accounts using strategic selling approaches.
  • Build relationships with pharma, biotech, academic, government, and clinical institutions.
  • Vendor shows, Good Pipetting Practice seminars, Business & service reviews, Asset assessments, Product demos
  • Promote Rainin solutions through direct selling and tailored marketing pieces.
  • Identify new business through cold calling and expansion into new segments.
  • Leverage e-commerce and digital procurement pathways.
  • Collaborate across Mettler-Toledo business units to share leads and opportunities.
  • Use SAP CRM to manage leads, accounts, activities, and opportunities.
  • Build prospect lists using internal marketing insights, directories, trade shows, and web research.
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to maintain and grow customer relationships.
  • Ensure timely follow-up of all leads and engagements.
  • Report weekly activity summaries and field notes to the District Manager

To be eligible for this position, you must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring any employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. This includes CPT, OPT, F-1, J-1, H-1B, or any other employment-based visa. Please note that we do not provide relocation or housing assistance at this time.
What You Need to Succeed
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, plus 2 or more years of sales experience in scientific instruments or equipment preferred.
  • Significant experience with ERP and/or CRM systems; SAP preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Technical competence and knowledge depending on product line of support; applicable examples include engineering, biology, analytical chemistry or material science
  • Candidates with Laboratory experience with automated lab analytical instruments. Strongly Preferred
  • Prior product management experience supporting a technical product is ideal; however, a candidate who is looking to move from the laboratory, sales or other technical discipline into a product management position and possesses the requisite technical acumen will be considered.
  • Must be willing to travel
