Job description

Position Title: IT Asset Management Specialist
Location: Montgomery, AL
Clearance Requirements: None
Pay Rate: $38.00/hour

Position Description:
Join a dynamic team overseeing the full lifecycle management of technology assets in a critical government agency. This long-term contract role demands meticulous attention to detail and clear communication skills to ensure proper receipt, documentation, tagging, tracking, maintenance, auditing, and disposal of IT equipment in compliance with all regulations. Collaborate across IT, procurement, finance, and security teams to promote operational excellence, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure regulatory compliance. Work in a fast-paced environment where your expertise will directly impact federal and state IT asset accountability and security.

Top Requirements:

  • 3 5 years of experience in IT asset management, inventory control, logistics, procurement, or related operational roles
  • Strong knowledge of IT hardware: computers, peripherals, networking equipment, mobile devices
  • Experience with asset tagging, inventory management systems, and barcode/RFID technologies
  • Ability to investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies
  • Understanding of chain-of-custody and chain-of-possession protocols
  • Proven ability to prepare and maintain audit-ready documentation
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in asset management software, spreadsheets, and reporting tools
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor s degree in IT, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or related fields preferred
  • Experience in government or public-sector asset management environment is a plus
  • Familiarity with IT Asset Management frameworks such as ITIL or ISO/IEC 19770 is preferred
