The Opportunity at a Glance:
Bluetree Dental is seeking an experienced, hands-on IT Director based in-person at our Reno headquarters. Reporting to Executive Leadership, you will lead technology strategy, multi-site infrastructure, clinical systems, and cybersecurity while remaining actively involved in execution-supporting 50+ practices and 500+ employees across 5 western states.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technology Strategy & Enterprise Growth
  • Develop and execute Bluetree Dental's multi-state technology roadmap to support rapid organizational growth.
  • Align technology investments with strategic business goals and establish enterprise IT standards across all locations.
2. Infrastructure, Operations & Cybersecurity
  • Oversee multi-site enterprise networks, cloud services, servers, telecommunications, and endpoint management.
  • Direct enterprise cybersecurity, HIPAA compliance, disaster recovery, business continuity, and incident response.
3. Clinical Technology & Practice Support
  • Optimize core dental technology platforms (Practice Management Systems, digital imaging, intraoral scanners, VOIP).
  • Partner with clinical leadership to enhance provider productivity and elevate patient care.
4. M&A Integrations & Growth Playbooks
  • Lead IT due diligence, data migrations, hardware deployments, and PHI transfers for practice acquisitions.
  • Build repeatable integration playbooks for onboarding newly acquired practices and de novo locations.
5. Team Leadership & Vendor Management
  • Mentor and lead a high-performing IT team, driving accountability and exceptional customer service.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with MSPs, software vendors, and telecom partners.
Qualifications
Required (Dealbreakers):
  • Location: Must work in-person at our Reno, NV headquarters.
  • Travel: Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% across regional practice locations.
  • Experience: 7+ years of progressive IT experience, with 3+ years in a hands-on leadership role managing technical teams and enterprise systems.
  • Multi-Site Expertise: Proven track record supporting multi-site, geographically dispersed organizations.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred:
  • Background in a Dental Support Organization (DSO), healthcare, or regulated multi-site environment.
  • Deep knowledge of HIPAA Privacy/Security rules and clinical dental technology (Practice Management/Digital Imaging).
  • Experience leading technology integrations for M&A activity.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, ITIL, Microsoft, or Cisco.
