Title: Engineer, Small Excavators (SMX) Electrical Hardware - 122822
Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position
Your Responsibilities
As a Electrical Design Engineer for John Deere Small Excavators (SMX) located in Dubuque, IA, you will support the development of electrical systems for 5 to 9 MT small excavators. In addition, you willl:
  • Collaborate within a cross functional team to develop electrical designs that meet customer needs
  • Support the design and print development for Small Excavator components within the product delivery process of new product programs
  • Support physical builds, production launches, testing, and customer field evaluations

What Skills You Need
  • Experience in a Product Engineering Design environment
  • Experience with product development processes
  • Strong desire and ability to learn and apply electrical component design principles to ongoing design activities
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to analyze technical data, consider multiple alternatives, and provide data-driven decisions/recommendations
  • Knowledge of electrical components such as batteries, starters, alternators, switches, relays, solenoids, sensors, actuators, and connectors
  • Demonstrated strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel both domestic and internationally, up to 25%

What Makes You Standout
  • Familiarity with construction, agriculture, or forestry equipment
  • Cross-functional experience related to verification, performance evaluation, software, and/or manufacturing
  • Experience Capital Harness
  • Working knowledge of John Deere product development
  • Experience working with system requirements, electronic hardware, circuit design and analysis

Education
