Job description

We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer 4 to work in a leadership role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position located in our San Jose, CA or Walnut Creek, CA office.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will:

  • Lead major consulting assignments associated with your area of expertise and provide expert-level technical and strategic consulting to ensure that assignments align with client needs.
  • Leverage your breadth of experience and knowledge from working across multiple clients, projects, code and regulatory frameworks, and/or market segments and geographies to align project scopes with client objectives to deliver extraordinary client value.
  • Lead the development of team technical competence, knowledge of codes and regulations, and professional standards of practice to assigned tasks.
  • Direct, coach, and support teams of staff in quality execution of multiple projects simultaneously within your technical practice area and specialty.
  • Be sought after to provide leadership for staff at varying levels with expert mentoring and coaching to support alignment of staff with market and client needs and support the growth and innovation of our practice areas.
  • Enhance company visibility by achieving leadership positions in external organizations and leveraging your role to advance company relationships with stakeholders, organizing conference sessions, publishing technical papers, etc.
  • Lead large project technical evaluations and communications, design and contract package development, construction procurement support, and function as certifying Engineer of Record and/or Subject Matter Expert on geotechnical projects.
  • Lead teams performing construction quality control, including field/laboratory testing.
  • Lead all work in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate the company's foundational safety behaviors.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Civil / Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
  • 16+ years of related professional consulting experience.
  • Professional registration or certification in California (CE and GE), as applicable.
  • Able to integrate industry-leading advancements into work as appropriate.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including verbally communicating and presenting project information to clients and stakeholders.
  • Applies emotional intelligence to achieve higher impact on project teams and client communications.
  • Proficiency with the application of relevant geotechnical analysis software.

The salary range for this position in Walnut Creek, CA and San Jose, CA is 175,000 - 200,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Haley & Aldrich reviews salary ranges each quarter to assess competitiveness with the market.
