This role will require extensive travel especially during our new store openings. Expect to be present at our NSO's up to 30 days at a time. We are growing quickly and this role will be key to the successful growth of the WAHi Brands franchise group and the Cheba Hut brand. We serve New Mexico, El Paso Texas, Virginia, Michigan, and Montana.


Role Description 

The Director of Training and Development is a full-time, on-site role based in Albuquerque, NM, responsible for leading the overall training strategy for WAHi Brands, Inc. dba Cheba Hut “Toasted” Subs. This role designs, implements, and continuously improves training programs for restaurant operations, management development, and brand standards. 

Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing training needs, building curricula, developing learning materials, managing training schedules, and evaluating training effectiveness across locations. The Director partners with operations and HR leaders to support leadership development, performance improvement, and career pathways, while ensuring training content reflects company culture and complies with relevant policies and procedures. This role also oversees learning systems, supports new store openings with training plans, and coaches trainers and managers to deliver consistent, high-quality learning experiences.

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in Training & Development with experience leading organization-wide training initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Learning Management, including administering learning platforms and tracking training participation and outcomes.
  • Strong Instructional Design skills to create engaging, practical training materials and blended learning experiences.
  • Experience in Leadership Development, including designing programs that build management and supervisory capabilities.
  • Curriculum Development skills to structure comprehensive training paths for frontline team members and leaders.
  • Relevant experience in multi-unit restaurant, hospitality, or retail environments is highly beneficial.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation abilities, with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Training and Development, Education, Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
