In 2025, Aerospacelab counts offices in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), Toulouse (France), Lausanne (Switzerland) and US West Coast with more than 350 full-time employees, with the ambition to position itself as the European leader in small satellites.

Your mission

We are building the future of 5G connectivity in space. As part of Aerospacelab, you will play a key role in analyzing and contributing to the evolution of 3GPP standards, with a focus on Non-Terrestrial Networks. Your work will ensure scalability, reliability, and performance for next-gen satellite-based communication systems.

You are a strategic thinker with strong technical depth, passionate about designing robust architectures for complex systems. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy influencing both technical and standardization directions.

Duties
  • Define and maintain the software architecture for 5G NTN gNB components
  • Ensure compliance with 3GPP standards while optimizing for satellite-specific constraints
  • Collaborate with system engineers, protocol experts, and hardware teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and propose architectural improvements
  • Contribute to internal design reviews and development efforts
Must have
  • Proven experience in software architecture for wireless communication systems
  • Strong software engineering skills and experience with distributed systems
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into scalable architectural designs
Nice to have
  • Experience with 5G NTN concepts and satellite communications
  • Understanding of 3GPP 5G NR specifications, especially RAN architecture
  • Experience in 5G RAN stack development
  • Background in embedded systems or performance-critical networking software
