Overview

Element has an opportunity for a LIMS Product Director to lead the vision, strategy, and delivery of a next-generation Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) supporting our Aerospace and Energy Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) operations.

This is a product-centric leadership role responsible for evolving LIMS into a scalable, modern platform that enables both destructive and non-destructive testing (DT/NDT) workflows across highly technical and regulated laboratory environments.

You will lead a cross-functional development organization building a modern LIMS ecosystem leveraging Microsoft Power Platform, Azure, and AI-enabled tools-driving improved data integrity, operational efficiency, and speed-to-value for laboratory and business stakeholders.

This is a hybrid role: 3 days in our Blue Ash, Ohio location & 2 days remote

Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap Ownership
    Partner with Product Council and business stakeholders to define and evolve the LIMS product lifecycle
  • Own and maintain a multi-year product roadmap aligned to lab operations, regulatory requirements, and growth objectives
  • Prioritize features balancing speed, scalability, governance, and compliance
  • Communicate product strategy, progress, and risks to senior leadership
Product & Platform Leadership
  • Lead the development of a modern LIMS platform leveraging:
    • Microsoft PowerApps (low-code/no-code)
    • Microsoft Dataverse and Power Platform services
    • AI-enabled development and automation tools
    • Full-stack development technologies where required
  • Establish platform standards ensuring scalability, configurability, and long-term sustainability
  • Champion user-centered design to drive adoption across lab technicians, engineers, and leadership
  • Ensure seamless integration with enterprise systems, data platforms, and reporting tools
Development Team & Delivery Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a cross-functional product and engineering team
  • Set clear product outcomes and empower teams to deliver value through Agile methodologies
  • Oversee delivery processes to ensure consistent, high-quality releases
  • Promote strong standards for quality, documentation, and operational readiness
Skills / Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in software product delivery, application leadership, or system modernization
  • 5+ years of product leadership and/or people leadership experience
  • Proven experience owning enterprise or operational software products end-to-end
  • Strong knowledge of product management frameworks, Agile delivery, and platform governance
  • Demonstrated ability to align technology solutions with complex operational workflows
  • Experience with LIMS or laboratory operational systems

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Aerospace, Energy, or TIC laboratory environments
  • Knowledge of destructive and non-destructive testing (DT/NDT) workflows
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including:
    • PowerApps
    • Power Automate
    • Dataverse
    • Power BI
    • Microsoft 365 / SharePoint
  • Working knowledge of Azure services and full-stack development technologies
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate development and improve product quality
  • Experience modernizing legacy or bespoke laboratory systems into scalable product platforms
