Overview

We're looking for a Director, Ecommerce- Digital Shelfto create impact and help our clients navigate the dynamic, fast-changing Ecommerce landscape. This role owns strategic client relationships, serving as the Ecommerce lead and trusted advisor responsible for driving client satisfaction, business growth, and long-term partnership success. This requires understanding emerging areas of Ecommerce and incorporating those insights into strategic recommendations across the Ecommerce ecosystem. This role will have 1-2 direct reports.  

Candidates must reside within a commutable distance from our Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis or New York office for a hybrid work schedule. 

The Director will engage with clients as the strategic Digital Shelf lead on their business: 

  • Develop customizable, yet scalable strategic solutions that position our agency as a best-in-class Digital Shelf partner for our clients. 

  • Lead a team of functional experts to strategize, execute and measure solutions that are focused on ensuring digital shelf content effectiveness and end-to-end digital shelf support is optimized to enable a connected, seamless shopper experience for our clients' brands and products. 

  • Core functions include marketplace assessments, full-scale audits, competitive insights, new product launch support, keyword research, SEO- and AEO-optimized copy development, evergreen and seasonal content development, product data management, and content health analysis. 

  • Lead business reviews, and educational programs that elevate client knowledge and influence strategic investment decisions. 

  • Lead emerging commerce capabilities including Agentic Commerce, AI visibility, AI search optimization, and governance frameworks that help brands win across AI-powered discovery environments. 

  • Evaluate, implement, and maximize commerce technology partners and platforms including content optimization, syndication, analytics, AI visibility, and digital shelf measurement solutions. 

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive catalog operations, syndication governance, product information management, and content health programs that improve discoverability, conversion, and operational efficiency across retailers. 

  • Manage projects towards client budgets, internal billing expectations and P&L goals. 

  • Identify and develop incremental growth opportunities through retailer assessments, AI/agentic commerce consulting, audits, workshops, operational optimization, and emerging commerce capabilities. 

  • Provide ongoing thought leadership both internally and externally. 

What you bring to us: 

  • 8+ yearsexperience in Ecommerce, Digital Commerce, Digital Shelf  

  • Bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing, or related field 

  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing results, synthesizing data, drawing out insights & implications, and developing insightful and actionable recommendations 

  • Sounddecision-makingskills based in an agencyandclient settingleveragingindustry knowledge 

  • Ability to effectively engage and influence a variety of audiences; Confident presenter and clear, persuasive communicator (verbal and written) of complex data/details

 Compensation Range: USD $129,485.00 - USD $186,060.00/Annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
