Job description

The hospital Physician Clinical Systems Specialist, under the direct supervision of the Market Clinical Informatics Director, serves as an expert in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. This role is primarily responsible for training clinicians to efficiently use the Cerner EMR and providing proactive, at-the-elbow support throughout the hospital. The specialist will also assist in the implementation, support, and optimization of the EMR and other clinical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to providers and nurses to ensure end users successfully integrate the EMR into clinical workflow
  • Ensure consistent and effective use of the EMR that aligns with policy, procedure, and standards
  • Create education content to communicate and educate providers and clinicians in EMR changes, initiatives, and projects
  • Provide suggestions and seek feedback from physicians and clinicians regarding the EMR
  • Communicate EMR feedback to the Market Clinical Informatics Director
  • Collaborate with the Market Clinical Informatics Director to improve physician and clinicians' satisfaction with the EMR
  • Promote "voice of the customer" and improve IS service and support

Requirements

  • Required: High School Diploma
  • Preferred: 3 years of experience in clinical hospital setting
  • Ability to develop, maintain and collaborate with clinicians
  • Ability to problem-solve and resolve conflict
  • Understands clinical workflow and has the skill set to integrate technology into clinical practice
  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills required
