Your Job
DEPCOM Power, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking a Director, Civil Operations, to provide enterprise leadership for self-performed civil construction operations across utility-scale renewable energy projects.
In this role, you will lead the strategy, systems, and teams responsible for delivering safe, predictable, and high-performing civil execution throughout the organization. You will establish the standards, workforce capabilities, and operating disciplines that improve productivity, quality, and project outcomes while creating a sustainable competitive advantage for DEPCOM. This position requires a leader who can develop people, drive continuous improvement, and build scalable operational systems that support long-term growth across a national project portfolio.

The Civil Operations team plays a critical role in supporting project success by establishing the field standards, work practices, and leadership capabilities that drive safe, efficient, and predictable construction outcomes.
What You Will Do
  • Champion Principle Based Management® by fostering a culture of stewardship, ownership, learning, and long-term value creation.
  • Build and lead high-performing civil operations teams by recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and developing future leaders.
  • Develop and execute the enterprise strategy for self-performed civil construction operations across the organization.
  • Establish standardized work practices, operating procedures, productivity expectations, and field execution standards that improve consistency across projects.
  • Drive improvements in safety, productivity, workforce efficiency, equipment utilization, quality, schedule predictability, and cost performance.
  • Develop KPI frameworks, operational review routines, and performance management systems that support data-driven decision making.
  • Partner with Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Logistics, Construction, Quality, and Commissioning teams to align execution priorities and improve project outcomes.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that eliminate waste, improve field performance, and strengthen operational reliability.
  • Establish and promote best practices for civil construction means, methods, planning, sequencing, and execution.
  • Leverage technology, analytics, and innovation to improve productivity, visibility, and workforce effectiveness.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Experience leading civil construction operations within utility-scale energy, heavy civil, industrial construction, infrastructure, EPC, or large self-perform construction environments.
  • Experience managing multiple projects, regions, or business units with responsibility for operational performance and execution outcomes.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing managers, supervisors, or field leadership teams.
  • Experience using KPIs, metrics, and operational reviews to drive continuous improvement and business results.
  • Experience improving productivity, workforce performance, equipment utilization, or operational efficiency within construction environments.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% to support projects and operational priorities.

What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience supporting utility-scale solar, renewable energy, power generation, energy infrastructure, or EPC project environments.
  • Knowledge of civil construction means, methods, earthwork operations, grading, drainage systems, road construction, and site development activities.
  • Experience implementing Lean, operational excellence, continuous improvement, or standardized work systems.
  • Experience implementing technology, analytics, digital planning tools, equipment tracking systems, or productivity reporting systems within construction operations.
  • Experience developing workforce planning processes, leadership development programs, or technical training initiatives.
