Job description

Bishop Chatard High School is seeking a Band Director to begin in the 2026-2027 school year. This is a long term position. Bishop Chatard is a dynamic educational environment for young men and women with different life experiences, is directed to the success of each student, focused on the growth of the whole person, and modeled on the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church.
Bishop Chatard High School prepares students for a life-long commitment to faith, learning, leadership and service. BCHS is also a Department of Education "Blue Ribbon School" and AP Distinguished school.
Prospective candidates should have a passion for band and orchestral instruction and for encouraging students to develop the skills they need to excel in their musical pursuits, be excited to further the mission of Bishop Chatard High School, have high student expectations, and have a personal desire to grow.
Candidates will:
1. Inspire, engage, and encourage students in their musical arts participation and development at Bishop Chatard and beyond.
2. Support the whole person's growth and development of all students.
3. Work with other teachers in our school and effectively develop and deliver a rigorous and engaging curriculum
4. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administration.
5. Establish and manage student learning in a positive learning environment.
