Job description

Position Summary

The CFO, Business Management, serves as the senior finance leader and critical member of Focus's Business Management Leadership Team.  This individual will report into Finance (Focus's CFO) and business leadership with direct finance responsibility for the Focus Business Management segment, which today includes Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman ("GRF"), but is expected to grow. Additionally, the role will entail partnering closely with other business management firms in the Focus Network to share insights and best practices.   This role will oversee core finance activities and operations within GRF including planning, budgeting and forecasting, management reporting and business analysis, decision support, and client billing (including pricing).  The role will partner with the leadership team to develop and support the strategy to deliver growth and value creation.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance
  • Serve as a key member of the business management leadership team, providing strategic financial guidance and influencing decision-making
  • Lead short-term and long-term financial planning and performance management
  • Establish and maintain financial measures and KPIs to deliver insights and actionable opportunities
  • Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends to assist the president and other senior management in performing their responsibilities
  • Lead efforts to drive business and process improvement as the business grows and scales
  • Develop processes for client onboarding, account management and pricing, geared toward increasing profitability
  • Support capital allocation decisions and the evaluation and integration of M&A activity
  • Engage and build relationships within the business as a trusted partner, and help guide and influence outcomes
  • Partner and collaborate with central finance teams on core processes and ensure delivery of shared services required for the business
  • Ensure consistency of process, governance and controls across business management and maintain strong financial stewardship within the organization
  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field required, MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles in large organizations
  • Prior related experience, including operating in professional service organizations with similar business models to business management
  • Deep expertise in FP&A and operational finance
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial close, reporting etc.)
  • Proven track record of partnering with business leaders to drive and deliver results
  • Demonstrated success in driving process improvements, systems enhancements, and scalable finance infrastructure
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with executive stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability

This position is an exempt position. The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $275,000- $300,000 base salary compensation range. Actual base pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k).
