Reporting to: Manager, BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE & ANALYTICS

The Role
Actively contributes to the business intelligence & analytics function. Develops, enhances, and maintains data queries, data models, reports, dashboards, and analytics, collaborating with business partners and customers as required. Advocates and fosters a data-driven approach to decision-making, furthering the evolution of the company's business intelligence culture.
What You'll Do
  • Reporting & Analytics (80%)
    • Develop, enhance and maintain reports, dashboards and analytics in the Power BI platform.
    • Conceive and author DAX measures to allow for meaningful calculations and insight.
    • Perform parallel work such as data integration, ETL and data model development and enhancement to support this effort.
    • Work with the I.T. and Data Architecture teams and contracted resources as required to deliver best-in-class business intelligence to business stakeholders.
  • Business Engagement (10%)
    • Engage with business stakeholders across a wide range of functions to identify and capitalize on key opportunities for analytics and reporting enhancements.
    • Identify data sources and help the business to prepare data for integration.
    • Foster a data-driven culture through the adoption and proliferation of data management best practices and advocate BI throughout the organization.
    • Communicate any observed defects in the data and work with the business to remedy.
  • Professional Development (5%)
    • Advance and further develop knowledge of Power BI, DAX, Power Query and other BI and analytics tools through online resources and/or books, training courses, user groups or professional organizations.
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform functionality and developments.
  • Special Assignments & Projects (5%)
    • Contribute business intelligence and analytics expertise to special projects/assignments as required by the company's expansion or ongoing operation.

  • Supervision: The incumbent performs a variety of routine work within established policies and procedures and receives detailed instructions on new projects and assignments. Makes decisions within area of responsibility.

Experience Required
  • Must have prior knowledge of position/industry (2-3 years previous experience in same or related field)

Education Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, including proficiency in the DAX formula language (required)
  • The ability to develop data extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes via Power Query, with a working knowledge of the M query language (required)
  • Experience creating dimensional data models such as star and snowflake schemas (required)
  • Proven experience using data visualization techniques to create meaningful reports and dashboards (required)
  • Able to translate business requirements into elegant and user-friendly reports and dashboards (required)
  • Eager to effectively articulate to a broad audience ideas and solutions of a complex/technical nature (required)
  • Experience working with and/or developing in Microsoft Power Automate (preferred)
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with business unit leadership (preferred)
  • Experience with programming languages such as SQL or Python (preferred)

Compensation
Salary: $92,000 - $100,000
