Account Director, Beauty PR

MUST BE LOCATED IN FL - Miami and Tampa Preferred

We are seeking a dynamic Account Director to help lead 5W's expanding Beauty practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate beauty PR professional eager to grow their career with a diverse range of clients, with a focus on Beauty communications.

The ideal individual has a genuine passion for the beauty industry and deep experience running beauty PR programs within an agency setting. They have worked with a diverse roster of consumer and beauty clients, are an expert at pitching, and possess superior account and time management skills. Strong media relations are at the heart of this role, complemented by a working fluency in influencer and digital strategy and a pulse on beauty trends and pop culture.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Act as primary contact to clients, continually fostering client-agency relationship to build trust and become a valuable resource and counselor to clients
  • Oversee and implement strategic communications programming
  • Develop and drive thoughtful earned media strategies for beauty brands, ensuring consistent, high-impact placements
  • Execute creative campaigns, brand partnerships, and influencer programs
  • Bring a strong point of view on beauty trends and pop culture moments, translating them into smart, culturally relevant recommendations for clients
  • Manage and delegate responsibilities of daily workflow of multiple accounts while driving consistent media results
  • Communicate account status to agency management regularly
  • Demonstrate proficiency in writing and editing materials, particularly presentations, program plans, and media strategies
  • Provide strategic guidance to clients and team members on an ongoing basis; anticipate and address clients' needs
  • Troubleshoot media, team, or strategy problems as they arise; seek senior management input when appropriate
  • Motivate team members by promptly reviewing work and providing constructive feedback
  • Strive to develop the best communication and presentation skills possible to effectively articulate ideas to clients, colleagues, and others
  • Conduct and lead monthly conference calls and meetings with clients
  • Develop and maintain relationships with influential members of the media in order to ensure placements; build relationships with beauty influencers and their agents as programs require
  • Conduct media training sessions with clients and junior staff
  • Provide guidance and leadership to team members on effective pitching, team issues, account workflow, and general account issues
  • Participate in the development of materials for new business opportunities including timelines, proposals, business decks, and case studies; assist in generating new business leads
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop strategic/creative thinking for clients
  • Misc. research, duties, and projects as required

Here's what you have:

  • B.S/B.A in Public Relations or related field
  • At least 6 years of PR agency experience, with significant experience in beauty PR
  • A true passion for the beauty industry - you live and breathe beauty brands, media, and trends
  • Deep media relations experience and established relationships with beauty editors and press
  • Experience integrating influencer and digital elements into earned-led communications programs
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and motivation skills
  • Proven client relations, management, and supervisory skills
  • Creative and energetic personality
