Job Summary:
Trimont is seeking a Principal Level Cloud Architect /Engineer to serve as a senior technical contributor driving the design, implementation, and optimization of our cloud platform. This is a highly influential individual contributor role focused on architecting scalable, secure, and cost-efficient solutions in a financial services environment.
You will partner across infrastructure, security, and business teams to define cloud strategy, establish engineering standards, and guide complex initiatives. This role requires deep expertise in cloud architecture, strong operational judgment, and the ability to influence without direct authority.
Responsibilities
  • Lead Azure cloud architecture strategy, designing scalable, secure, and resilient solutions for financial systems.
  • Establish and enforce best practices, reference architectures, and reusable frameworks for automation and platform engineering.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership for complex cloud implementations, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD pipeline management.
  • Integrate security, risk, and compliance requirements into all architectural designs and solutions.
  • Drive cloud cost optimization, scalability, and performance improvements; advise leadership on spend and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors to deliver integrated, standards-aligned solutions.
  • Define and implement monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies to ensure system reliability and support incident response.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years in cloud engineering, infrastructure, or architecture roles
  • Senior or principal-level individual contributor experience
  • Background in financial services or regulated enterprise environments
  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to shifting business priorities
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure (compute, storage, networking, identity, security)
  • Proficient with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and platforms (e.g., GitHub)
  • Strong understanding of networking, Entra ID, and hybrid cloud architectures
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture patterns, distributed systems, and microservices
  • Experience designing for high availability, disaster recovery, and global scale
  • Proven track record in cost optimization and performance tuning
  • Ability to influence technical direction without direct authority
  • Strong problem-solving, systems thinking, and communication skills
  • High ownership and accountability for outcomes
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent certifications. Background in vendor evaluation and technical due diligence. Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) preferred.
